ok so my skin has been acting really, really weird. Call it the Quarantine skin bug or something. I have been seeing these Curology ads all over my Pinterest, everybody knows I love Pinterest. I’ve also seen a few Youtubbers I watch talk about it, they all swear by it. However they’ve all been paid and sent free products, *insert casual shrug here*. I’m not judging, im just calling a Spade, A SPADE. None the less, their marketing has worked because I decided to give it a try. I am NOT AN INFLUENCER, I was not sent these products. I paid for it with my own money and I want to tell you what I have noticed so far.
Getting Started – So I went onto the website and made an account. I answered a few questions sent a few pictures of my face in perfect lighting and waited for an expert to analyze my skin and get back to me. Within the first ten minutes I was sent an email about how the products would work. Within 24 hours I got my personalized skin review and “prescribed” a product based on my skin’s needs.
I feel like between the time of setting up and account and them packaging my order then sending it out to me. I got my Curology personalized skin care set in about a week. A week and two days at most, but definitely not more than two weeks.
The Day My Little Box Arrived
I was super excited, I got three products with instructions on how to use everything. I also want to add I was sent an email with more detailed instructions. Really useful read too, not gibberish. The instructions explained how I should use my personalized formula that comes in a white bottle. Ease into it, so maybe twice a week for the first two weeks then up it once your skin can handle it, every other day next and within a month maybe everyday. That might not have been exactly what was said, but its close.
I got my packages on Tuesday, I used everything that night. I really liked the way the moisturizer felt, and the fact that it wasn’t heavy. None of the products were heavy actually, everything was super light on my skin. When I used my white bottle, I admit now I might have been heavy handed. Three pumps is what I went with both times, they recommend a dime size amount. I have no idea what that is. It burned a little in the fist spot it touched when I first used it, the sensation went as quickly as it came and it did not burn or irritate me again.
I did not use the product on Wednesday morning or night, just the cleanser and moisturizer. However on Thursday morning throughout the day I did notice my skin feeling dryer than usual and just a little sensitive when I scratched my face. Nothing overbearing I will admit, my face felt like I got a gentle chemical peel and by 4pm it started to strip, In small areas. My chin and near my mouth, if you’ve ever had a chemical peel you know.
Friday
After using my white bottle again on Thursday. Making this the second time in total I have used it in the three nights since receiving it. Friday I had the same dry skin and flaking, but nothing horrible. So Friday night I use the cleanser and moisturizer and to combat the dry, flaking skin. I used my Laneige water sleeping mask. just to get some moister in my skin. Saturday morning I didn’t really have much peeling if any at all. That morning I also incorporated the Laneige cream skin toner and moisturizer. My skin was chill all day.
Three Days Later
So Saturday there was no peeling. Used my special formula again on Sunday night and I had no issues. Monday I woke up with normal skin, no major improvements yet. On Tuesday night tho I used the formula again, and had no burning at all. So in total I have used the special formula four times. Wednesday I woke up to no peeling and for some reason my skin looked like it was glowing. It could just be my mind. But all day my face was glowing. It’s been officially one week. However I will keep using it and keep you guys up to date.
In Conclusion
The special formula they send you, I like it and it has some really good proven ingredients. The cleanser and the moisturizer I’m not sure yet if they’re magical. I feel like if mine run out I would just want to purchase the white bottle and continue using my own cleanser. I don’t really mind their moisturizer to be honest I would repurchase it before I repurchase their cleanser. We are all at home now, so we aren’t wearing makeup. But on a regular day after work, I dont think it would remove my makeup.
Anyways I will keep you guys posted on how I am doing with Curology, but so far. I don’t hate it.
