Im going to get straight to the point, since I spend majority of my time indoors now, my skin has been acting different. Not in a good way either, I have noticed odd breakouts. The only thing that has changed in my routine is I haven’t been as consistent. But to be fair I haven’t been awful either. With that being said I have made some changes to my current life situation, and I expect big results.
I dropped the ball with my vitamins. Yup I can’t believe I’m admitting it but working from home and staying in has made me lose my daily motivation. I recently stocked up on all my vitamins that have run out and added vitamin D3 to the mix. Something else I’m doing consistently now is taking wellness shots from Pressed Juicery. You can get them anywhere or make them yourself. I personally take either a turmeric or apple cider vinegar shot every morning to prepare my body for the daily fight against Covid 19. Then I follow up immediately with vitamin C, a cup of hot mint tea and then keep myself going on tons of water until lunch time. I take a bunch of vitamins all throughout the day, until I go to bed. Before I closely eyes I take a daily cleansing vitamin and another night time vitamin by HUM.
I NEED to get dressed – Getting up going to work, even just going to the mall or hanging out with my friends. This seaming very important thing that I never really thought about before is missing from my routine. Having a reason to get dressed up, gives us all purpose. So the first week I spent in my green robe and hair bonnet, matching PJ’s and house socks. While that may work for going to bed and staying home on the weekends to clean and organize my house. It doesn’t work during “The Great Lockdown” of 2020. When we don’t know what the world will look like after this is over and the truth is none of us really know what’s going on right now. I may not be going tp brunch, but I’m ALIVE. So I started dressing up, not too much but I started wearing organized sets, put on mascara and wear earrings everyday. It has made a huge difference, even in my work flow since I’ve been working remote.
Getting more creative, by creating more. Im a creative soul, and creating makes me happy. Planning organizing and putting things together, gives me purpose. One of my New Year resolutions was to pick up my camera more. Since I’ve been at home now more than ever before (since being an adult) I’ve been doing more of that. I’ve been playing with shadows and I realize I need a crash course on light and shadows. I’ve also started a new series on my YouTube channel, “Lauren’s Kitchen”. For years my subscribers have been begging me to show them how I make some of my favorite foods and I finally got around to doing it.

I make plans, and write to do lists – In high School they would tell us “Those who fail to plan, plan to fail” and since this “Great Lock Down” the joke has been why bother make plans at all. I like planning, they might not always go according to how we want them, but then we just readjust and make other plans. Not having a plan at all is crazy, planning never killed anybody. Free falling into oblivion sounds absolutely dreadful. I plan my weekdays and weekends and feel so good about myself when I accomplish things on my list. I know it’s going to be a great day when I’ve already checked off “Morning Workout” before 9am.
Exfoliate and Shower like there’s no Lockdown. Honey I take my daily showers like I’m hitting the streets. I literally can not live without my daily showers, and twice a week in shower exfoliations. We still get dirty, just because we are at home doesn’t mean our skin isn’t shedding and certain areas aren’t building up little you know stuff lol. Honey I wanna be fresh if I have to run out of my house in the middle of the night, lol.
Has your routine changed at all, and how are you staying sane? I hope this all ends sooner than later and for those of us hurting, we will be stronger after this.
xoxo Lauren
